Kevin Dueck
A father of five who came to insurance the long way — through technology, entrepreneurship, and the daily work of providing for people. He does this work because protecting families isn’t abstract to him. It’s personal.
From systems and small business to real families’ futures.
Kevin studied technology and earned a master’s degree in Information Technology at Brigham Young University — training that shaped the way he thinks. He’s wired to take something complicated, break it into its parts, and explain it so it finally makes sense. It’s a skill that turns out to matter enormously when the subject is insurance.
But the classroom was only half of it. Kevin is an entrepreneur and a business owner, connected to The Chopped Leaf in Federal Way, Washington — a family-owned restaurant. Running a business taught him things a textbook can’t: what it means to make payroll, to be responsible for employees and their families, to plan through uncertainty, and to feel the weight of a slow month in your own chest.
Then there’s the part that makes all of it personal. Kevin is a father of five. When you’re responsible for that many people, protection stops being a concept you debate and becomes something you feel — every time you think about the future you’re building for them.
That combination is unusual, and it’s the whole point. Kevin has sat on the side of the table most of his clients are on. He understands the business owner’s cash-flow math, the parent’s quiet worry, and the honest confusion of trying to compare plans you were never taught to read.
He sees insurance as a practical way to help families prepare for the things they hope never happen.
A sense of purpose that shows up as service.
Kevin’s faith and his relationship with God give him a broader sense of why any of this matters. For him, professional success is most meaningful when it can be used in service of other people — which is why he’s motivated to help as many people as he reasonably can, and to do it honestly.
That’s the spirit behind how he works, not a requirement for who he works with. You don’t need to share Kevin’s beliefs to work with him — his faith simply informs the care and integrity he brings to every conversation.
A quick word on the human being.
Because you should know who you’re actually talking to.
Board games
Kevin genuinely loves a good board game — the strategy, the table talk, the friendly ruthlessness. Ask him for a recommendation and settle in.
All things movies
A true film fan — the classics, the new releases, and the deep cuts. It’s a reliable way to derail (in the best way) an otherwise practical meeting.
Family, first
Five kids keep life full and loud. It’s also the clearest reason Kevin takes planning for the future as seriously as he does.
Lessons from a family restaurant.
Kevin’s connection to The Chopped Leaf in Federal Way isn’t a side note — it’s part of why he understands his clients so well.
Owning and operating a restaurant means living the realities business owners face every day: hiring and caring for a team, serving customers well, managing cash flow, and planning through seasons you can’t fully predict. When a business owner sits down with Kevin, they’re talking to someone who has actually done it.
- Employees & their families depend on decisions you make.
- Customers expect consistency, day after day.
- Cash flow is a discipline, not an afterthought.
- Uncertainty is constant — so planning matters.
- Responsibility doesn’t clock out at closing time.
